Happy Birthday DS9 – Emissary

25 years ago, Emissary, the pilot for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine aired. Did we realise back then it was going to lead into a crazy seven year story? How the characters were going to grow and develop? We’d see love, loss, war and baseball? This year, we at 10Backward are going to pull out our full DS9 love and do several episodes about this groundbreaking show, starting appropriately enough, with this one!

In Defence of Insurrection

We are joined again by Rob Chapman and Rick and Rob load up with 7 tons of itritium explosives and bazookas to save an innocent, peace loving film from the evil attacks of Will and Richard. But are they so dead set on attacking Insurrection? Can Rick and Rob truly muster any defence of this film? It’s much maligned, is this fair or unfair?

All Good Things

It’s the 30th Anniversary year of Star Trek: The Next Generation! We recently examined the pilot, Encounter at Farpoint and felt it was only right to follow up with a look at the series finale, All Good Things.

Sorry about the cockney accent.

And sorry about Picard’s pyjamas…

Just sorry.

Star Trek Newbies

At 10Backward, we were told that maybe some of our topics could be daunting for the more casual Trek fan. So we decided to do a show on what we felt were good episodes to watch if you weren’t a big Trekkie already, or maybe entirely new to the show. Furthermore we went out and made ‘volunteers’ watch these eps and tell us what they thought! Find out what happened by listening!

Encounter at Farpoint

In all the Discovery excitement, it’s been easy to overlook that it’s the 30th Anniversary of The Next Generation! But we haven’t! In the first of a few shows looking at elements of TNG, we go back to where it all began, Deneb IV, ‘beyond which lies the great unexplored mass of the galaxy,’ or at least 7 years of awesome Trek action!

Avatar, Book One

¬†Welcome to the first episode of the Trek Book Club podcast! Rob and Rick will discuss August 17’s selected book, Avatar Book One from the DS9 relaunch. As well as their own thoughts, they’ll be covering points from the Twitter discussion from the club.

Please note that there may be some feed confusion as we’ve never tried two before. The Book Club feed should be¬†http://lowerdecksradio.co.uk/index.php/category/trekbookclub/feed/ so please try that if you’re having trouble.
