Following the emotional fallout of Star Trek Discovery’s first season drawing to a close, we recorded an immediate, off the cuff, free wheeling reaction to it. Two days later! Rick Everson joins the crew via a pre-record on this episode due to internet problems, or perhaps as Rick Palmer suggests, because he is trapped in the bath.
25 years ago, Emissary, the pilot for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine aired. Did we realise back then it was going to lead into a crazy seven year story? How the characters were going to grow and develop? We’d see love, loss, war and baseball? This year, we at 10Backward are going to pull out our full DS9 love and do several episodes about this groundbreaking show, starting appropriately enough, with this one!
Apologies for the sound issues in the episode, we have identified the problem and it’ll be sorted for the next podcast, which hopefully will be with you before 2032!
Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the seasoned veteran of space, respected by all his peers, diplomat, strategist, archeologist, explorer… and womaniser!? Maybe not, but he’s had his share of dalliances over the years. Join us in 10Backward as we discuss the women in his life!
Happy new year and let’s hope 2018 is going to be another Trek-Tastic year! Now, we officially add uninvited guest Gemma to our ranks as we have a good old look at how the latest version of Star Trek is going. At the time of recording, we’d watched up to Episode 10, although 11 will have been released by the time this comes out. So we recap our highs and lows of Discovery so far and how we’re feeling about it as a whole.
We are joined again by Rob Chapman and Rick and Rob load up with 7 tons of itritium explosives and bazookas to save an innocent, peace loving film from the evil attacks of Will and Richard. But are they so dead set on attacking Insurrection? Can Rick and Rob truly muster any defence of this film? It’s much maligned, is this fair or unfair?
It’s the 30th Anniversary year of Star Trek: The Next Generation! We recently examined the pilot, Encounter at Farpoint and felt it was only right to follow up with a look at the series finale, All Good Things.
Sorry about the cockney accent.
And sorry about Picard’s pyjamas…
10Backward takes a second look at those common recurring themes or happenings in Trek, the tropes! Last time was so much fun we had to take another dive into this theme, maybe becoming a trope of our own show?!
